Recently, I read an article and it said that scientists said the birds falling from the sky and the fish turning up dead were not unusual. Animals die in big numbers at the same time due to poisoning, bad weather and diseases. Mostly these things happen to animals that move in large groups. Scientists agree that the fireworks display on New Year's Eve frightened the birds, and since blackbirds can't see at night, they ended up flying towards the ground, and killing themselves in the process. I think that we shouldn't have such big and noisy events near places where wildlife stay, to prevent this from happening again. I also think that people shouldn't jump to conclusions, and think something is wrong when really the event that happend was an accident. So in the end the birds died of fright, and it's not the end of the world.
