In an article I read, it stated that plants that are equipped with microchips, can text farmer's cell phone to ask for necessities. This new invention can save farmers thousands of dollars a year. Originally, the "cellphone" was for astronauts in space, because astronauts need plants to receive oxygen and for food. Currently the microchips have to be attached to a power source, but scientists hope in the future, they can be equipped with batteries. I think that it is great that researches have created something like this. It may not be used as much in the eastern states because there is more rain, but it can certainly be used in the western states. So let's keep texting!
